ABOUT THE PERFORMER

Street Pharmacy

Street Pharmacy is a reggae alt-pop band from the illustrious Welland, Ontario Canada. The musical concept was initially concocted by singer, guitarist and primary songwriter, Ryan Guay after he received treatment for an acute case of encephalitis. This obscure treatment to save Guay’s life left him with the unusual ability to prolifically write, compose and produce music. These strange medical circumstances led Street Pharmacy to unleash five full-length albums on the world, all while touring relentlessly for over a decade. Street Pharmacy successfully mixes together the honesty of 90s alternative rock, SoCal reggae grooves and lightening fast lyrical flow reminiscent of golden age hip-hop to forge a unique blend of reggae-alt-pop. In 2009, the band was named co-winners of the popular MuchMusic television show DisBAND. Staying true to their indie roots, Street Pharmacy chose to forge their own path using their own record label, which led to their single Stone, Bricks and Mortar reaching number one on the aforementioned television channel’s music video charts in 2010. Since then, the group has collaborated and/or toured with like-minded musical souls such as illScarlet, Walk Off The Earth, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and Bedouin Soundclash. Their newest concept record entitled Delusional Discourse is due out at the end of Q4 in 2020. Fill your prescription today!
